Always contender but never a champion, Michael Bisping. He is probably one of the most overlooked and underrated fighters in the UFC. The betting lines are always close as if Bisping was a gatekeeper to the lower level of the division yet has a record of 23-4. Michael Bisping has only lost to Rashad Evans, Dan Henderson, Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen with Henderson being the only one able to finish him. The Rashad Evans loss was a split decision that had Bisping moving to Middleweight and the Sonnen fight was razor thin and could’ve gone either way. The Count has 18 finishes out of his 23 career wins yet is still considered a point fighter by many. Deemed to have no punching power yet knocking people out.

The one thing Michael Bisping doesn’t have is “One Punch Power”. He has never landed that one punch that puts his opponent out cold and its probably one of the reasons he is always overlooked in the title picture. Lyoto Machida was criticized for the same thing and began focusing on punching power. The Dragon soon knocked out Thiago Silva and Rashad Evans in back to back KO wins. Maybe Bisping could learn from Lyoto.

Michael Bisping faces Brazilian Superstar and fan favourite,Vitor Belfort, at UFC ON FX 7. Let’s hope he can outlast The Phenom and get his well deserved title shot. After all, Sonnen got a title shot VS Jon Jones on pure trash talk. Next stop, Anderson Silva.
